Keynote speaker on resilience & high performance
Thirty years across three disciplines — elite sport, music and technology — each demanding a completely different kind of resilience. Carina Bruwer doesn't speak about bouncing back as a concept. She describes the method she used when it mattered most.
Not a chapter in her bio — the whole story
Carina Bruwer has swum more than 30 open-water marathons, including 10 world firsts in some of the most demanding conditions on earth. She has performed more than 2,000 times across 20 countries as the founder of an internationally award-winning music group. And with no technical background and no development team, she used AI to rebuild a technology platform from scratch — an ultra-sophisticated system now reshaping her industry, locally and abroad.
Three domains. Three completely different kinds of pressure. The same discipline running through all of them: the refusal to stop.
When Carina speaks on resilience, she is not describing a framework she studied. She is describing the method she uses — and has used, under conditions where the alternative to resilience was failure. That specificity is what lands differently. Audiences don't just feel inspired. They leave with something they can actually use.
Three talks. Three angles on resilience.
Signature keynote
Resilience under real pressure
Resilience isn't a mindset — it's a practice. This keynote is built from thirty years of returning: to the water after setbacks, to the stage after loss, to the laptop after failure. Carina draws on the specific moments when continuation felt impossible to show audiences what resilience actually demands — not optimism, but a repeatable method for finding your next move when the last one didn't work.
Leadership resilience
Building resilient teams and cultures
Individual resilience is one thing. Building organisations, teams and cultures that don't break under pressure is another. Carina has led groups across open water in conditions most people wouldn't enter alone, and built a business through pandemic, industry disruption and complete platform restart. This keynote translates that experience into what leaders can actually do to build resilience into the way their organisations operate.
Resilience through transformation
The resilience to start over
Transformation is the hardest test of resilience — because it requires giving up something you're good at in order to become good at something new. Carina has navigated this three times across three entirely different disciplines. This keynote explores what it takes to stay resilient through change, not just after it — and why the ability to begin again is one of the most powerful forms of strength a person or organisation can develop.
