Innovation, resilience, and the future of technology took centre stage at a powerful event hosted by ABSA Technology SNG at The Venue Melrose Arch. I was invited to deliver the keynote, a memorable moment in my career as a motivational speaker in Johannesburg, sharing lessons from the worlds of endurance sport, music, and entrepreneurship.
Although I come from a relatively non-technical background, my path as a motivational speaker has been shaped by breaking barriers in marathon swimming, music, and entrepreneurship. In 2015, I also developed Gigster, one of South Africa's early peer-to-peer marketplace platforms for live entertainment, a venture that combined creativity with digital innovation. These experiences allow me to inspire audiences by showing that true innovation stems from resilience, mindset, and the courage to take risks.
It was especially inspiring to meet and share the stage with Mandisa Mfeka, South Africa's first Black female fighter pilot and a true trailblazer. Mandisa's groundbreaking achievements remind us that the sky is not the limit but just the beginning. Connecting with her and hearing her story of courage and perseverance was a true privilege and added depth to the event's powerful message of breaking barriers and embracing new possibilities. It's moments like these that reaffirm why I continue to pursue this path, not just as a storyteller, but as a motivational speaker in Johannesburg who's passionate about inspiring growth, innovation, and resilience across diverse industries.
