The brief

For its inaugural Beyond the Working Woman event, Broll Property Group gathered an influential room — CEOs, COOs, portfolio directors and asset managers who collectively oversee billions in assets and shape South Africa's commercial property landscape. The intent: a space where titles could be set aside, and women could reconnect with who they are beyond their roles. Broll trusted Carina with both the MC role and the keynote.

What Carina delivered

  • 01The keynote on courage, fear and imagination — facing adversity head-on and stepping into the fullest version of yourself when life pushes back.
  • 02MC duties across the afternoon, holding the room's energy and threading the programme together.
  • 03A facilitated engagement session in which senior women shared challenges, goals and vulnerabilities that connected directly back to the keynote's themes.

What happened

The response was overwhelmingly positive — attendees described the afternoon as inspired, challenged, emotional, moved, speechless and empowered. The event drew independent press coverage in Asset magazine, which credited the keynote with taking attendees 'on a journey of courage and imagination'.

It was about rediscovering purpose, courage, and the power to show up fully. It was a reminder that we are more than our titles, more than our roles, more than what is seen. We are more.
